Privacy policy

smartsignify processes your PDFs entirely in your browser. The document you open is never uploaded to or stored on our servers — all editing, signing and exporting happens locally on your device. We do not receive, see, or store the contents of your documents.

Your documents stay on your device

When you open a PDF in smartsignify, it is read directly by your browser. Text, signatures, checkboxes and other edits are applied on your device, and the finished file is generated locally when you download it. At no point does the document travel to us.

If you leave and come back, smartsignify can restore your in-progress work because it is autosaved in your own browser's storage (IndexedDB) on your device — not on our servers.

What little data is handled

• The site itself is served over standard web hosting, so like any website our host may process routine technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages.
• We run a small keep-alive endpoint that stores no user data; it exists only to keep the site's infrastructure responsive.
• No account is required, so we hold no name, email or password for you.

How to clear your locally-stored data

Because your work is stored only in your browser, you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for smartsignify.com (usually under Settings → Privacy → Site data, or by clearing browsing data for this site). You can also delete individual documents from the homepage list.
