How to add a watermark to a PDF
Watermark a PDF or put a watermark on a PDF with text or a logo. Set opacity, rotation, tiling, position and page range, then download. The mark is drawn into the file as real PDF content.
- Upload your PDF. Drop a file onto the page, or choose one from your device. It stays on your computer.
- Add a text or image watermark. Type watermark text or upload a PNG, JPG or WEBP logo.
- Adjust opacity, position and pages. Set opacity, rotation, tiling, position and which pages receive the watermark.
- Download. Choose Add watermark and save the finished PDF.

Watermark questions
How do I add a watermark to a PDF?
Upload the PDF, type your watermark text or upload a logo, drag it into place on the preview, set the opacity and rotation, then choose Add watermark.
Can I use an image or logo as a watermark?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or WEBP image. Transparent PNG logos keep their transparency in the finished PDF.
Can smartsignify remove an existing watermark?
No. This tool adds watermarks to a PDF. It does not remove watermarks that are already in a file.
Are my files uploaded when I add a watermark?
No. Watermarking runs entirely in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Choose Page range and enter pages such as 1-3,5,7-10.
