These terms govern your use of smartsignify, a free browser-based PDF editor. By using the service you agree to them. We've kept them short and readable on purpose.

The service is provided "as is"

smartsignify is offered free of charge, as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.

Your documents are your responsibility

Your files are edited and stored only on your own device. That means you are responsible for your documents and for keeping your own backups. If you clear your browser storage or lose your device, we cannot recover your work — we never had a copy.

Acceptable use

Don't use smartsignify for anything unlawful, and don't attempt to disrupt or misuse the service. That's it.

Signatures and redaction

smartsignify lets you place signatures visually on a PDF, but it does not provide legally binding e-signature certification. Similarly, the whiteout tool covers content visually — it is not secure redaction, and covered text may still exist in the file. For certified signatures or true redaction, use a dedicated tool.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages — including lost data or lost documents — arising from your use of smartsignify.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the last-updated date shown above.
